Government, Audi Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement
Feb 28 2013 – The Hungarian government has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Audi, the luxury brand of German automaker Volkswagen (VW). The agreement touches on investments, education commitments and infrastructure developments that allow Audi to further expand its base in Győr. Audi board member for production Frank Dreves claimed that Audi Hungária's orders from Hungarian suppliers stood at HUF450bn (US$1.99bn). The EUR900mn (US$1.17bn) expansion plan will increase output to 125,000 cars a year from 2013, up from more than 33,500 units in 2012.
